Widow/Widower with Dependent Children
Closed group for widows or widowers raising young
children at home - 10 week program.
This
support group is closed format and all applicants are
asked to commit to the full 10 weeks of the group. A reunion
will be planned for approximately two months after the
completion of group. Group facilitators are themselves
bereaved and at a place in their grief journey that they
are capable of giving back. They will have completed BFO's
facilitator training course and will provide the group
with structure and guidance through some of the unique
challenges experienced by this loss.
Participants
for the group will be a widow/widower who has experienced
the death of a partner and who is parenting young children
in the home. Group members will need to complete a registration
form that can be found on this site and email,
fax or mail it into the office for review. All information
received is confidential. Once received applicants will
be contacted by the BFO office to discuss the next possible
group and any needs the family may have at the time. A
received registration form does not ensure participation
in the upcoming group and if there is a waiting list the
participant will be notified.
The next group will be running: Tentatively Spring, 2010 (based on number of participants)
